I am a 25-year-old from East Saint Louis, IL. Growing up, people have always assumed I was a model. The thought was nice, but I never took them seriously. Maybe because I did not think it was a possibility for me because of where I come from. I was very first asked to model when I was a junior in college. A photographer saw me and thought I’d be perfect for a campus shoot. I said, “Why not?” I took the photos and thought maybe this was something I could look forward to one day.
Fast forward a few years later, I started a beauty brand. I didn’t have much money to continue hiring models, so I began modeling for my brand. People saw the photos and were amazed. They could not believe I was not a professional model. And honestly, I was amazed at myself. I also realized how much I enjoyed it and decided it was time.
I aspire to be an international model. Modeling to me is more than just taking pictures or walking the walk. It is about capturing the beauty in the moment and displaying a level of confidence that would inspire all women. I pray that this career takes me higher than I ever imagined and that God will be glorified through it all.
